Introduction
Comdry NX series is an upgraded version of Munters' existing Comdry series - a portable dehumidifier with superior drying capacity that are not only lightweight and easy to install but also 20% more energy efficient than most competitors.
The upgrade mainly applies to the top cover with it's components, including the top handle, the HMI with new embedded software, and the communication module, shifting this device into the next generation of Munters' connected services.
Design Requirements
To maximize brand visibility for this upgrade, the need for a newly designed packaging solution was identified, and I was appointed as the project lead. The primary objectives of this design proposal are as follows:

Utilize natural, uncoated cardboard to facilitate recycling and reuse.

Implement single-color printing to ensure cost efficiency.

Incorporate artwork highlighting the upgraded key components to emphasize product improvements.

Adopt a minimalist design approach, incorporating only essential branding elements to maintain clarity and impact.
Proposals
During the development phase, two primary design directions were explored: one featuring detailed graphics to highlight the unit's unique selling points (see v2), and another with a more generic design that could be adaptable for future products (see v5). After careful consideration of practicality, the design incorporating specific graphics was ultimately chosen for this case.
